Lemmi! ...

Dear Beagles and Buddies :
We are the Shih family, we adopted Thomas (a Basset Hound, and a Boarder Collie mix) about a month ago. He is a very sweet dog. We love Thomas very much, so does Minnie. At first Minnie (our other dog) was a bit jealous, but now they are best friends. We know that Thomas is very happy here. Thank you very much!!!

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that 'lemmi' is doing really well. He settled in really well and gets along with our dog, maxi really well.
He has lost a lot of weight and can actually run for a short distance and is alot more alert.

Thank you for doing the job that you guys do, its so important....

Lulu is doing great. She has apparently been a spoiled little girl in the
past as she is always looking to get her tummy rubbed. We gladly induldge her of course. She also seems to be house broken already too. My daughter is getting more comfortable with her and my son doesn't want to leave her alone. Lulu is a good sport about it and just walks away from him when she doesn't want so much "attention." She Follows Mom and Dad around everywhere we go and loves to go for rides and for walks in the park. She even rode along in the back of Tanisha's jogging stroller while she ran around the Rose Bowl. Like I said, "Spoiled." Anyway, we will continue to keep you informed.

Thank you for your help and the service you do.
Sincerely, Scott H.

One hot, summer Sunday, a little boy and his parents came to visit Beagles and Buddies. It was his birthday that day. This young man had asked all his friends and relatives to bring doggie toys instead of human birthday toys so he could donate them to all the big and little woofers and Beagles and Buddies! Altogether, they brought in 4 huge bags of toys & other things for us to use! Amazing!
Below are some pictures to show you this wonderful little boy.

How do new dogs and babies get along?

The baby and the dog should never be left alone together.

However, Bassets are the least likely to be dangerous. There are other breeds such as the Labrador, the Golden Retriever, and the Collie that are unlikely to snap at children.

Adopting an older dog that has had experience with children is much better than adopting a puppy or a young dog without experience.

With puppies, teething is part of growing up - and sometimes they don't know the strength of their own jaws. Rather than riskng it, go with an older dog. That way, both parties can have fun & respect without getting into any trouble!!
