Stella's new home ...
------
Attached are some photos of Stella in her new home. She is such a great gal.
Thanks to you, Maggie and the rest of your group.
Thanks - The Sicilianos [11.20.01]
Thank
you for your help this past weekend in picking out a beagle for my Dad. Doogie
Bowser is happy at his new home with my Mom and Dad. He has had his first grooming
and smells sweet. He sleeps on the couch with a blanket on him. I think he may
think he has died and gone to heaven.
Have
a great holiday, and thanks again.

We just wanted to give you an update on Mandy since we
brought her home a little over a week ago. She has definitely won the hearts
of the entire family. Her and our 4 year old daughter Kaitlynn do not leave
each others side. As soon as Mandy hears Kaitlynn's voice she is up the stairs
to her room. The two are definitely inseparable. Her foot has almost totally
healed, and she seems very comfortable in her new surroundings. Thank you for
allowing us to adopt Mandy, and bring her into our family. She is truly a great
addition to the De Mont household. Keep up the great work you do.

The Mercer beagles, home of Kobe and Magic from B&B!
They're
watching their Dad eat an apple very raptly, except for Rusty who must
be in a coma! [12.02.01]
My
daughter and I adopted a dachshund from Beagles & Buddies in July, 2000 as
a new member of our family. Although it took Mickey (formerly Blackie) months
to trust his feelings of safety and security enough to play with toys, he now
runs up to any visitor we may have with a toy in his mouth.
Mickey had been abused by a male and left homeless due to a divorce. He is still
leery of men, but trusts me enough to permit introductions. He and my daughter
sometimes display sibling rivalry while our other doxie and I just sigh and give
them hugs...I can't tell you how much unconditional love Mickey gives me throughout
the day. He sleeps under the computer while I work and follows me wherever I go.
He likes my ideas and doesn't complain about my cooking....what more could one
want in a male? LOL!
He marched with the "Wild Weiners" in this year's Doo Dah Parade and
although he doesn't think much of racing, attends the Weiner Nationals and other
races during Octoberfest to cheer on his friend, Courtney. The two of them were
even on two news spots in preparation for the Weiner Nationals. When Johnny Mountain
introduced a practice race for the camera, Mickey shot out of the gate and into
the parking lot toward the jeep, leading half of the competitors with him! He
has dressed as a bumblebee, a Harley dude, a devil and in a variety of gowns.
(He may compete for the title of Queen of the Doo Dah Parade next year.)
As you can see, Mickey has found an interesting home filled with lots of love
and attention. Thanks for helping our family find this wonderful addition....Kathy,
Sami and Courtney [12.04.01]

How
do new dogs and babies get along?
The baby and the dog should never be left alone together.
However, Bassets are the least likely to be dangerous. There are other breeds
such as the Labrador, the Golden Retriever, and the Collie that are unlikely
to snap at children.
Adopting an older dog that has had experience with children is much better
than adopting a puppy or a young dog without experience.
With puppies, teething is part of growing up - and sometimes they don't
know the strength of their own jaws. Rather than riskng it, go with an older
dog. That way, both parties can have fun & respect without getting into
any trouble!! |
