Oscar is a star ...

Helllllooooo there...

Hope everyone (I mean EVERYONE :) ) doing well, just want to say hi and send you some short movie of Oscar, he is a star!!!

He is terrific and we all feels like he already been with us from the day he was born! It's true what they're talking about Dachshund, they're very loyal and sweet, bold and playful, and loves food and sleeping with their human, he...he...

Thank you very-very-very much,

The Mercer couple from Santa Ana made our day!!
(October 7, 2001)

They've been admiring the web site for some time; they said they look at it several times a week. First off, these wonderful folks showed up with 3 bags worth of towels, shampoo, and more bedding linens! And decided to adopt two wonderful beagles - Magic & Kobe - from us! Not only that, they're sponsoring our famous car accident beagle survivor - ALEX!! Here are some pictures for everyone to share =)

PS: These folks really made our day. Did I mention that yet? (Sonya, webmaster)

Hi, we adopted a Basset Hound named Frank about a month ago. He is GREAT!! Our dog Maible and him get along perfect..they`re the best of friends. He is so happy and so are we. Here are a couple of pictures of Frank. One by himsself and the other with Maible.
Thank you, Heidi

How do new dogs and babies get along?

The baby and the dog should never be left alone together.

However, Bassets are the least likely to be dangerous. There are other breeds such as the Labrador, the Golden Retriever, and the Collie that are unlikely to snap at children.

Adopting an older dog that has had experience with children is much better than adopting a puppy or a young dog without experience.

With puppies, teething is part of growing up - and sometimes they don't know the strength of their own jaws. Rather than riskng it, go with an older dog. That way, both parties can have fun & respect without getting into any trouble!!
